Sowing the seeds of knowledge.

Gardening and nutrition education for youth is vital to cultivating healthy kids and healthy communities. In addition to adult gardening classes, Urban Harvest has an extensive Youth Education program. We offer advice, education and services to provide parents, teachers and administrators with information to build and maintain a successful and sustainable school garden program.

Urban Harvest also has school partnerships to develop outdoor classrooms including programming with an Urban Harvest garden educator and project management. Garden education programs are delivered after school or during school to enrich curriculum. Standard subjects include social studies, math, science and language arts. In addition, we explore nutrition, food systems and native habitats and ecosystems at elementary and middle schools in the Houston and Spring Branch ISDs.
