Community Gardens

GROW YOUR GIFT: DONATE NOW

Urban Harvest supports more than 100 community gardens planted with a variety of goals. Neighborhood and allotment gardens provide an opportunity for neighbors to grow nutritious food as a community and create an urban oasis for the neighborhood. School gardens provide an excellent hands-on learning environment. Donation gardens provide fresh produce to feed the hungry. Therapy gardens provide an opportunity for physical and emotional health and healing. Market gardens provide a source of income for low- income residents as well as entrepreneurs.

To encourage and enhance the development of community gardens, we offer instruction on getting organized as well as support for gardeners and community groups. We help recruit volunteers. We maintain a directory of gardens within the Urban Harvest web site. And we offer networking and social opportunities for gardeners and volunteers.
