The Edible Academy: Learning in the Outdoor Classroom

This two-day workshop will provide classroom teachers, parents and garden coordinators with hands-on experience that will help you use your Outdoor Classroom as an exciting educational tool! Explore lessons in gardening and culinary arts that support TEKS objectives in earth science, social studies, health, nutrition, physical education and other core subjects. Use lessons in the garden to make learning memorable, and tasty too! The first day includes a 3-hour field trip to visit other school gardens & a local restaurant that partners with our host school. Cost of workshop includes lunch. Workshop capacity is 30 attendees. NOTE: This workshop is intended for those with an existing school garden.
