Urban Harvest is offering children's gardening classes at the Saturday Farmers Market on Eastside Street. Classes cover a variety of topics in botany, ecology and nutrition that will enhance children's understanding and respect for how plants grow and how food is produced.
Squash, pumpkins and gourds… We'll be taking a look at some different types of winter squashes and learn the curious history of the Jack-O-lantern and taste some delicious roasted seeds!
Apples… We'll take a look at the many kinds and talk about the many ways we enjoy them.
Winter greens… A look at all the tasty winter greens we can grow in Houston.
