Wax jambus are ultra-tropical and will not survive in areas that receive frost. Needs adequate rainfall, some humidity and fertile soil for best growth.

Care of Wax Jambu Trees

This tree must be kept in a pot and protected from all cold weather below 40 degrees. The idea is to prune this fast growing tree to size that is appropriate for a pot and easy to bring inside a greenhouse or sunny window when the temperature drops below 40 degrees. You might even want to keep this tree inside near a sunny window all winter and then put back outside when temperatures warm up to above 40 degrees.
